Manufacturer Spotlight: Flourishes

Each month on Gingersnap Creations we will have a Manufacturer Focus and will highlight some of our favorite stamp manufacturers. For the first month I chose my favorite acrylic stamp company – Flourishes .

Flourishes is owned by three lovely ladies: Jan Marie Caruso, Sharon Dolittle and Nancy Kirk. I was lucky enough to spend a whole weekend with them, some of their fabulous design team and a group of great stampers at the Flourishes Stamper’s Dream Weekend in Pensacola, Florida.

Flourishes definitely has a signature style that I’d describe as flourished elegance with Southern Belle charm. Their images are classic and timeless – they are the type of stamps you will use for years and years. You’ll find nothing cute or trendy in their repertoire and I love that!

Their deeply etched, photopolymer stamps come in sets and include a tiny Flourishes image to stamp on the back of your cards. This is really useful if you sell your cards because it instantly conforms to their angel policy. They have a good selection of line art and silhouette stamps, many botanical images, seasonal sets and several component sets (ie the ones you can layer up to create a custom image).

The majority of the stamps are produced from images drawn by Marcella Hawley and she is a fabulous artist! Her fine, detailed images give the stamper great guidelines for coloring and ensure that you produce a stunning piece of work every time you use them.

Like many stamp companies, they release new sets each month and hold a release party in their Splitcoast Forum. As well as the forum, they have an active blog with two challenges each week and an inspiring design team headed by Julie Koerber.

In addition to their great stamp catalog, Flourishes also supplies the paper crafter with lots of other essentials, including ink, paper, envelopes, tools and a good selection of ribbon and other embellishments. I also really like their sturdy, plastic boxes that you can buy to store your stamps in.

As you can tell I’m a huge fan of Flourishes. I encourage you to check out their blog and store if you haven’t already done so. And if you create something with Flourishes stamps this month, please leave a comment with a link because we’d love to see it.

Stay tuned for Sharon's Overcoming ATC Angst.....
