Design Team Call

Want to join a great team with lots of freedom to create and very few rules?

We have 2 full-time design team spots and 1 guest designer spot open on the GC Design Team.

Most of the fabulous Gingersnap Creations Design Team will be staying on with us for another fun six months of challenges, tutorials and projects, but we have two positions open for the upcoming term! We are also looking for a guest designer while Jo Capper-Sandon takes time off to complete her new book.

Gingersnap Creations is dedicated to papercrafting fun in a low-stress and supportive environment and we founded our Design Team on those same ideals.

We love imagination and dislike loads of rules. To be on our team, you can use things that you already have on hand and have a lot of freedom in your creations. There’s no specific products to buy, no specific stamp sets to use, and what we hope is a reasonable time commitment.

Here are the Design Team Member requirements for the 6 month term (April 1, 201o to September 30, 2010):

~ full-time Design Team members will participate in a minimum of two Gingersnap challenges a month with new creations (2 creations per month with 2 challenge "vacations" = 10 creations total per term)
~ the Guest Design Team member will participate in one Gingersnap challenge a month with a new creation; sorry no challenge vacations for the Guest Designer
~ create a step-by-step project and/or tutorial for an assigned month which fits that month’s theme or technique/supply focus (2 per term for full-time members; 1 per term for Guest Designer)
~ create one copper, rust or ginger colored creation to be used in the new design team member announcement (new Design Team Members only)

The Easy stuff

~ post our badge on your blog with a link back to us
~ provide pictures/scans of your sample cards for the challenge posts
~ post your challenge creations on your blog linking back to Gingersnap Creations within a week of the challenge posting
~ assist with commenting on challenge submissions for two challenges during your term
~ become a member of the Gingersnap Creations Yahoo Group (if you aren’t already)

The Optional stuff

~ participate in blog hops and other events
~ provide creations for our monthly Reasons to Stamp Article

Sum Total of your Commitment

~ 10 creations over 6 months
~ 2 tutorials or step-by-step projects
~ whatever other fun stuff you want to do

Please note: there is no compensation for these positions. There will be no sponspors for the upcoming term. We are in it for the fun of it and we hope you are too!

How to apply

We will be accepting applications for up to 2 Design Team positions and 1 Guest Designer position starting on February 12th and closing on March 12th, 2010.

Our Founding Femmes and our returning Design Team members will review submissions from March 13 through March 20, 2010. The new Design Team members will be notified on March 22, 2010 and we will announce our new team members on the blog on April 1, 2010!

See...no stress! No experience necessary! No past publication necessary! Creativity is your best qualification!

Please note that it is the policy of Gingersnap Creations to allocate Design Team positions strictly through the application process. No invitations to be on the design team will be issued without a completed application.

Please keep emailed project pictures to a reasonable size ie 80K or less. We will consider any papercrafting projects as submissions: cards, scrapbook pages, journals, altered pieces, postcards, ATCs, Moos, Inchies, Twinchies, mixed media pieces, collage art, home decor items, 3-dimensional items, 4x4, 3x3, 6x6, etc. Anything that fits the category of papercrafting is acceptable!
