GC53: Chestnut Theme - Read

It's National Crack a Book Month so we are celebrating the printed word here at Gingersnap Creations. Get into the spirit of things with our new Chestnut Theme Challenge:

R E A D

Use readers, reading, books, familiar stories and text as your jumping off point for this one! We want to see all your wonderful art, chapter and verse!

When the challenge closes on May 30, 2010, we will pick 7 Ginger Gems - fabulous creations that we feel really exemplify that challenge's objective. The Ginger Gems will appear in our wrap-up post and in a slide show in the blog bar for an entire week and their creators will have the honor of displaying our Ginger Gems blog badge.

For your chance to be eligible as a Ginger Gem or as a Home Page Artist, just follow the simple guidelines below:

1) Make a paper crafting or mixed media creation using "read" as your theme or inspiration;

2) Post your creation to your blog or online gallery with a mention and link to this post; and

3) Come back to this post and leave a comment including a DIRECT link to your creation or use Mister Linky below.Remember to make it a link to the specific post or picture and not just a general link to your blog or gallery. We need to be able to find your art!

For more information on our challenges and directions on linking, please check out our FAQ page.

One random winner and seven Ginger Gems will be announced from the qualifying submissions on June 1, 2010. You have until May 30, 2010 to enter!

Our amazing Design Team has come up with some fabulous art that is sure to get excellent write-ups!

  6. Fabulous samples...what a talented team. Lots of variations on the theme for inspiration.

    I entered a card, which, is VERY touch and go whether its classed as 'printed word' as requested lol, but I printed the bg from a download so it may apply.

    Here goes anyway.

    It can be found here.

  11. I got two GS challenges in this one card. I used designer paper with lots of text on it, plus I wrote on the notebook paper stamped for it. It also has pencil writing on it for that challenge. Thanks for all the fun challenges.

  14. Well that is my entry submitted - could not pass up on this challenge as I love books and always have done. Although I committed a crime against books by ripping out a page and distressing a cover!!! Lynne M x
