Intextuality

May is upon us and that means another new theme and new focus! To help celebrate National Crack a Book Month, we've decided to make the printed word our theme for this month - reading, writing and integrating text and writing instruments into our art. Our new focus is altered arts with a spotlight on altered books.

We would like to welcome our May Muse, Nancy Maxwell James. Come back tomorrow when you can get a glimpse of one of her favorite projects and get to know Nancy better.

We are also welcoming Helene Huber as our Visiting Artist. Helene will help us out with our challenges this month.

What else do we have going on? Lots!

~ 4 challenges: a Chestnut Theme Challenge, a Spicy Supply Challenge, a Random Redhead Challenge and a Color Challenge.
~ our design team is getting busy with tutorials. We have new tutorials from veteran Design Team Members: Hels Sheridan, Joanne Wardle and Elina Koutsouradi.
~ one of our new Design Team members, Linda Ledbetter, will be posting her debut tutorial for GC as well!
~ our May Muse, Nancy Maxwell James, has some lovely projects to share with us.
~ our Dimensional Diva, Jennie, will share some more great ideas with you.
~ Alison Manning, one of our founding femmes, will also be sharing a fabulous altered art project. ~ we'll have reams of new Ginger Gems to show off with 4 new wrap-ups.
~ we will also present a new Reasons to Stamp for June toward the end of the month.

As always, we had lots of fun with the GC Yahoo group in April with great shares and some fun special content!

Our current Art Exchange closes for sign-ups today! We are exchanging Flower Forms this month. To find out more, check out all the information on this exchange.

Some of last month's special content included making projects with a flower pot template like this little guy right here:

We also used the new "in Spring Colors" from Pantone. Here's what Lynn did with the color inspiration:

To get in on this month's fun and exchanges, join the Gingersnap Creations Yahoo Group. It's quick and easy.

We hope you join us as we get into text, alter some books and have a lot of fun!
